We have asked traditional community to tell us which of their traditional works are their favourites, that are the best of the best and why. The journal where the suggestions have been made has flourished with amazing suggestions, and became a central point on discussion between artists, about the artworks suggested and why they got suggested.

We have decided to feature all of these, and some of these got the Daily Deviation Feature. Now show these awesome artists some love  :community:

:thumb54178573: by :iconaixado: suggested by phydeau "I love the vivid colors and stunning realism of her entire gallery, but this one in particular stands out to me. I like the expression on the woman's face. It makes you wonder what she's thinking."

:thumb80787895: by :iconwattshanna: suggested by lady-shirakawa "because she was trying something new, she doesn't normally draw things that couldn't exist in real life to this extent. Despite this she has cre ated a wonderfully moving piece."

Portrait of Xiao Xiang by Denis-Peterson by :icondenis-peterson: suggested by mitchellnelson"I have to say its the most photorealistic painting I have ever ever seen. Normally photorealistic pieces look real but if you look up close they don't look realistic at all. However this piece if you zoomed in you could not tell it is a painting, the skill and details in this piece is out of this world and I inspire to be this good someday."

Elisa Elisa by Behydezell by :iconbehydezell: suggested by elegaer "Because ... I'm still in awe of this every time I see it. Because traditional art can be traditional, old and painstakingly detailed as well as modern, bright and abstract. Because ... well, just look at it."

Check Mate by crhino by :iconcrhino: suggested by EuroFoxx "I'm a big fan of *crhino's work, but this piece just makes me melt. He has a ton of other gems in his gallery so it was hard to pick just one, and I honestly can't believe that he's not better recognized. He's completely self taught, and all his wildlife pieces are brilliant. Definitely worth a second and third look, in my opinion "

The real love will never die by retransmission by :iconretransmission: suggested by glunac "This is one of his many Native American series works, they have a meaning beyond what you see & many are deeply embedded in the believes of the old. Being part Native American myself I see his work as a spiritual journey.
Explanation of this artpiece:
Tlingits (Native Alaskan Tribe) have 2 basic groups Ravens or Eagles(sometimes called Wolves)...at one time only a Raven could marry an eagle & vis versa. When an Raven dies the eagle plans his funeral. Eagles sing songs to Raven at the potlatches. When a raven AND an eagle are depicted on a piece of jewelery or artwork they are called "lovebirds" the depiction is often circular & the belief is very similar to the Yin/yang belief. They Compete (the circle) as well as compliment each other. They are a example of "True Love", one that is right with the world.
Because I am a believer in true love & a romantic by heart, this gets my vote."

Hibiskus by GreenMusic by :icongreenmusic: suggested by glunac "This artists draws flowers that just made me go "Wow! they are NOT photos!" . Her flower depictions are a riot of color & form & they make you want to stick your nose in there & take a deep breath of their scent air."

Unique by RamonaQby :iconramonaq: suggested by glunac "I fell in love with his portrait depictions of Border Collies, guinea pigs, & cats & animals in general; but the one I choose as my fav. of his work is actually a cartoon about being different yet being happy in who we are regardless of how much we stick out of the crowd.
Being artists we all tend to live outside the realm of "Norm". We often poor, moody, & sometimes just plain weird but we are content in our own eccentricities. This cartoon has a "who cares if the rest of the world is watching I will be ME!" attitude."

Yearning by lien :iconlien: suggested by glunac "To be honest I love his boat painting the best but there are too many of them to choose just one ...Just want to note that I see boats in his painting but that is not what he depicted. This one is incredibly simple yet packed with powerful emotions. It is of a person unhappy with his life & is so desperate to find a way out he crawls the walls in desperation. Sometimes life, family, depression, or a lost love make us feel like this: a cornered wounded animal trying to claw our way out to safety & to the light. There is just so much angst dripping from this painting, it hurts even to look at it for too long"

:thumb59422606: by :iconantepli: suggested by icemother "I am a big fan and have done two journals on his work.. looking through Wasel's gallery now I don't think my favourtie work is in there, but I have many.. I hardly ever have one favourite thing in any case.. the linked image shows the scale he works on, even if this is taking it to extremes! Pls look at my journals or his work.. you may remember them in any case. Love Liz"

:thumb51301103: by :iconjakubziom: suggested by MissyAcker "The way this artist depicts form and still can go wild with colour is beautiful. The forms are very distinct but the colour is wet-in-wet and gives it a very different feeling."

Rachael and Pounce by blind-awakening :iconblind-awakening: suggested by jjackm"I think this is a great contemporary scene. There is a nice balance of color and paint quality. It is also very calming and I love cats..."

Maj by mbart by :iconmbart: suggested by rell121 "really anything by this user is phenomenal. The use of color and light in all of mbart's paintings is just superb. They have a dreamy and almost surreal feel to them while still being extraordinarily realistic and well crafted. He also hardly has any watchers, which is sad because he is such a fantastic artist."

The Waking Edge by arminmersmann by :iconarminmersmann: suggested by Jumprabbit "As an artist focused on making portraits of women, in a realist style, I found this a very very strong example of what you can do if you put as thought, time and skill into work as it needs. Everything about it works IMO"

Sacred Angel of Comfort by TereseNielsen by :iconteresenielsen: suggested by EuroFoxx "*TereseNielsen's Sacred Angel of Comfort is just beyond amazing, it practically radiates unconditional love, compassion, and kindness. The images she comes up with to illustrate these cards are just breath taking, and I love the variety in her gallery. It's honestly a gold mine, sure to delight any Traditional Art fan  She also has wonderful descriptions for the process she uses, and they're really fascinating. Her gallery's definitely worth a visit!"

bring me the flower by barbarasobczynska by :iconbarbarasobczynska: suggested by mamelik "any work that basia does is full of some kind sad and mellancolic beauty, she has a very beatiful spirit n mind that she reflects in his texts n imagery basia rock my world because i have seen his growth as a creative in technique n theme. basia s the best for me and an inspiration in my cloudy days"

Spirit of the Bush ... Sold by graemeb by :icongraemeb: suggested by Elfin-Grrl "I found this painting back last May and it completely overwhelmed me. Something about the atmosphere and emotion, the light from the trees, her hair flowing into feathers, the colours, It makes me want to paint, paint, paint. :heart"

Weight of the Stone by Denis-Peterson by :icondenis-peterson: suggested by Yamenja "I think this is a really special piece because the way the subject moved the artist, not just to paint him, but to also spend time with him and get to know him. Denis actually spent much of the day pan-handling on Eugene's behalf. I dont think I've ever met anyone else who has done that for a homeless person. He also recounted to us how inspired he was by Eugene's incredible spirit, and I think the painting does exude a kind of strength and beauty that is quite extraordinary. In essence, I would choose any of :icondenis-peterson:'s genocide or homeless works for their breathtaking humanity, the combination of world-class masterful talent along with levels of compassion that are rare in any field outside of the NGOs who work directly with those who live in exteme crisis. I feel we are blessed to have such an artist here, not only sharing his work, but also supporting many other artists, encouraging and helping who knows how many! This to me exemplifies great art - in that it is a combination of a well developed gift with a well developed sense of humanity and understanding."

:thumb81136602: by :iconbirgit-zartl-art: suggested by BRipin "just when I think they can get no better - this is your best so far. The tonal range of your black/grays is phenomenal, and the textures are luscous and fit together so well. An Ansel Adams of painting."

Hot Summer by zampedroni by :iconzampedroni: suggested by Lechtonen "I think it is a perfect impression of a Mediterranean heat wave. Forms melting in the air. Your world glowing with almost sickening, all-devouring warmth."

Blue Velvet by Jumprabbit by :iconjumprabbit: suggested by rubanesqu "I adore all of this artist's work, though this piece, the work done on the texture of the velvet, is wonderful. I truley felt that I could touch it. Being a painter myself there is not often something that I would buy, but this, only wish that I could afford it."

TurnipTerror by Kung-Fu-Kiwifruit by :iconkung-fu-kiwifruit: suggested by Supaslim "This painting screams "OH MY GAWD," in more than one way. Every stroke helps defines the screaming turnip, but the painting overall has a somehow soft look. I guess you could say I fell in love at first sight... With a rampaging turnip monster."

The Serpent's Eye by 22zddr by :icon22zddr: suggested by shadowed-light-waves "The Serpent's Eye by ~22zddr is a gorgeously detailed Acrylic and Oil piece that'll have anyone staring in amazement. Everything -- from the concept, to the lighting, to the delightfully contrasting colors -- makes this piece a beautiful addition to any collection."
